Changes

Well My Club was returned. I am jobless and homeless. Well was to i finally decide that I would no longer wait around for any one. I rlized waiting for Lolita to want me to help will never happen. So it is time for me to move on and upward from that place. I have always thought I did not fit in and always thought I was getting played cause i am young but not to dumb. I gave it my every thing and got nothing but a spit in the face in return. So i have moved on to a London Sim. Going to work it for a while new view. New place to call home, enjoy the people they seem to truly like me and are not there to lie to me and give me false hopes. I still love Lolita and her sim, But when you tell me you want my help then want it don't just sit back and not be there and don't have time for me when it is your sim I am trying to improve. Glade I found a spot where people get that, and does truly want my help. I will always miss where i came from and still go back there when truly wanted there. Tell then i shall live in London.

Kittie In The Black

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

June 26, 2009

E1 MUSIC SIGNS KITTIE

NEW ALBUM, IN THE BLACK, TO BE RELEASED
ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2009

(New York, NY) — E1 Music announces the addition of Canada’s KITTIE to its heavy metal roster. Under this worldwide deal, KITTIE will release three albums for the label.

KITTIE (Morgan Lander—vocals and guitar, Mercedes Lander—drums, Tara McLeod—guitar, and Ivy Vujic—bass guitar) has released four studio albums during its career which have sold collectively over 1,250,000 copies. The band’s new album, IN THE BLACK, is slated for release on September 15, 2009. Some new songs on the album are “Cut Throat, “Sorrow I Know” and “My Plague.”

KITTIE vocalist Morgan Lander says, “We are totally thrilled and honored to be working with Scott Givens and to now be part of the E1 family. We have been hard at work for the past few months perfecting our latest musical offering and are pleased with the final result of IN THE BLACK. It is everything that Kittie is supposed to be: heavy, fast, brash and nasty, yet at times introspective, feminine and emotional. One thing it is not, however, is compromising of the sound and style that we have come to be known for. This s*** is HEAVY! Our new label pairing with E1 will actualize the vision that we have held constant over the years for the band."

E1 Music VP of Metal Scott Givens adds, “As a band, KITTIE truly is a one of a kind powerhouse. I know I speak for everyone at E1 Music when I say how excited we are to be working with them and launching IN THE BLACK to the masses.”

Currently the band is working on Fall tour plans and will be shooting two videos during the month of July.

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day!

Canada Day celebrates the events that occurred on July 1, 1867, when the British North America Act created the Canadian federal government. The BNA Act proclaimed "one Dominion under the name of Canada," hence the original title of the holiday, "Dominion Day." Dominion Day was officially renamed "Canada Day" by an Act of Parliament on October 27, 1982. This change reflected the policy of successive governments to down play Canada's colonial origins.

Canada's national celebration is always observed on July 1, unless that date falls on a Sunday, in which case it is observed the following day.

All Canadians are entitled to Canada Day off work - although some people have to work. (like Police, Fire and emergency service workers).

Canada Day is considered a Family Day with outings, picnics and celebrations of the birth of our nation. We wave flags

, sing songs and enjoy the day!

To all my fellow Canadians!

I hope you enjoy the day with family and friends and remember what a great country we have!

Grand opening Finally

We Did it! Finally, I had a grand Opening Of the Club house. he turn out was great! I got friendly Fire to play at the grand opening they where so glamtastic! They rocked the new sim so hard! I had to go afk for a few came back like 10 min. before the show and it was already filling up we had around 35 40 people in there in my Club Rocking it to a live band that kicked ass! Every one seemed to like it a lot Dj Joltfreek Was there as well he is looking forward to coming back to the School and Dj'n He has been wanting to for a long time but they pay some one now to dj there so I got the best dj in SL for free! I am loving it seems to fall into place I hope it keeps up and stay busy. It is hard now because you have to tp to the school and walk a half of sim to get to my club and if joltfreek is dj'n or even when friendly fire played u can just hang at the school instead of walking half a sim and still hear and enjoy, So i probably would have had lots more in the club if they could come to the club instead of a half a sim away but I still made it work, there was only like 2 or 4 people at the school and like 35-40 in my club during the event! So it worked out great! hoping to get a tp in spot to the club soon if it happens will let you know tell then just take a left between the tv and dance poles, follow the road over the bridge follow the other road pass vendor spots then you will start to see the club. So I will be there as always waiting to see you and the party will be kicking and contest will happen soon and often very often.

Blues brothers

The Blues brothers came threw the school and rocked it today! I am Almost done with the club, unless it is to be changed to something else that is. When the blues brothers played i had a chance to talk very briefly about it and what will happen. I was wanting to get friendly Fire to play Monday but it is to late for a Monday show for them now. that would have packed the Sim they always do a real life band playing into Second life they rock! but maybe i can get them before there vacation in July. I am just wanting to talk the rest of the details out with the people that it needs to be talked with and finish up maybe add a few little things. Then going to party hard there, if thats what we end up using it for. When we did have the chance to talk in was in a conference and the two talking just had me lost not sure if they where talking about the same thing our two different ideas or to take the club down put up a frat house, I am not sure I was lost in that conversation and was never cleared up on any of it. only time will tell. I hope it does not end up sitting there with me in it to it is to late and it gets returned, at least i will have a chance to pick up my things cause i am always there. So fill free to come over and say hello. Well Lets see what happens and tell the next post huggles and kisses!

introduction of verified age and identity in Second Life

The introduction of verified age and identity in Second Life is certainly a momentous change — though many of the comments posted to the announcement have been positive, and this type of verification has long been requested by business owners and content providers as the most direct way to improve trust and safety in Second Life, it’s clear that there are several points of concern that need to be addressed:

Age and identity verification will be completely voluntary. Residents who choose not to verify their identity will have access to all PG and M (Mature) rated regions of Second Life save for those individual parcels expressly identified by their creators as containing adult content. Adult content flags on the Mainland will be parcel-based, meaning that unverified accounts will be restricted only from the specific parcels containing adult material, not from Mature regions in general. ‘Adult Content’ is that which is overtly, graphically, or explicitly sexual in nature or intensely violent.

Linden Lab will not store any specific, identifying information. We’ll keep less exact information as a way to allow Residents, if they should so choose, to share verified aspects of their identity with others in Second Life — ie, not an exact date of birth, but an age (over 30) and not a specific address, but a city and country. Such sharing will, of course, be completely voluntary. Our verification provider will assess the consistency of the provided information and return a match code; at that point, a Resident becomes verified. The entire process takes less than two minutes, and will be available internationally. Our verification provider will only use information to provide a match code.

Age and identity verification fees will be assessed only once, at the point of verification — there will be no ongoing monthly or maintenance fees associated with verification. A mechanism will be provided to extend a successful verification to multiple accounts. Premium accounts will pay a very nominal fee; less than L$10, perhaps just $L1. Basic users will be able to access the service at a higher, though still one time, price.

Age and identity verification will replace ‘Payment Information’ in-world. Credit cards do not provide an adequate means of age and identity verification, making real and robust age and identity verification vital. Land owners will be free to allow or disallow access to their owned parcels based on this verified or unverified status.

Linden Lab is committed to enabling the safest and most enjoyable experience possible in Second Life. The introduction of age and identity provides Residents with new tools to determine how they interact with the world, how the content they create is accessed, and allow for a new level of trust within in-world relationships.

Till Now

I hear the ticking of the clock
I'm lying here the room's pitch dark
I wonder where you are tonight
No answer on the telephone
And the night goes by so very slow
Oh I hope that it won't end though
Alone

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone

You don't know how long I have wanted
to touch your lips and hold you tight, oh
You don't know how long I have waited
and I was going to tell you tonight
But the secret is still my own
and my love for you is still unknown
Alone

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone

How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone

Alone, alone

The Things Happening around me.

On April 23, North Myrtle Beach residents woke up to the news Barefoot Resort homes were on fire, many destroyed, and the Horry County wildfire thought to be contained was spreading.
On the same morning Barefoot Resort residents were sheltering in North Myrtle Beach City Hall, the Aquatic & Fitness Center and Barefoot Community Church after a hurried evacuation in the middle of the night. Some wondered if their homes were spared while others, whose homes were on fire when they left, knew the answer.
As the North Myrtle Beach community pulled together to offer help, coordinate housing and provide funds for those who lost everything, questions about the fire began to emerge.
Some Barefoot Resort residents questioned the way they were notified about the wildfire that swept through their community burning 70 homes to the ground, damaging dozens more and creating $19 million in damage. In response to their questions Mayor Marilyn Hatley formed a wildfire task force to look into the questions raised at a Barefoot homeowners meeting.
Hatley said the task force was needed to see what exactly happened. “Any time you have a major disaster happen in your community you need to do a total review from start to finish. This will show how we are strong and how we can improve ourselves.”
Councilmen Greg Duckworth and Hank Thomas were appointed to the task force with Duckworth heading up the group. Other members included Horry County Councilman Paul Prince, Chairman of the North Myrtle Beach Planning Commission Fred Coyne and Tom Powell, representing the Barefoot Residential Association Board of Directors.
“We want to respond quickly to the community. We want this report to be done in a timely fashion because we owe it to the Barefoot residents,” Duckworth said when the task force was appointed.
On May 21 the Highway 31 Wildfire Task Force lived up to their promise of fast results when they presented their report and offered recommendations for future building.
Calling the wildfire South Carolina’s worst Wildland-Urban Interface Fire, Duckworth said the task force was a “collaborative team approach with the question of how can we do better in the future?”
Paul Whitten, speaking for Horry County public safety, said the fire originally started around noon on Wednesday. “Over the next 13 hours winds and local weather conditions made the fire challenging,” he said.
He said during the day additional fire equipment was added and additional firefighters called in to assist. The fire was concentrated on Highway 90 near high density development.
Whitten said their main concern was to control the fire and protect structures in the path of the fire.
The S.C. Forestry Service was called and other fire departments in the area responded with help.
The main purpose of the S.C. Forestry Service is to fight wildfires. They brought in plows and other equipment to assist. As the fire spread numerous actions were taken to slow the fire including lighting back fires to clear debris, plowing and creating fire breaks.
According to Darryl Jones of the S.C. Forestry Commission the Highway 31 Wildfire was hard to define and instead of dying down at night, as fires generally do, this fire became more intense. The fire also moved faster and created winds up to 40 miles per hour.
According to the timeline given, around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday the wildfire shifted to the east and merged with a back fire creating a fire storm shooting flames over 270 feet into the air. Showers of embers stirred up by the winds headed for Barefoot Resort and within homes were on fire.
North Myrtle Beach Public Safety officers on the Highway 22 overpass saw the explosion of flames and quickly notified others as they rushed to Barefoot to begin evacuating residents.
Duckworth said the fire had “unusual patterns for our part of the world.” Using the U.S. Forestry Service computer models to plot the fire showed the fire should not have reached Barefoot until late Thursday if at all.
“The fire exceeded expectation and the way it should have spread,” Duckworth said. “When a fire burns like this one, creating its own weather, it is hard to predict. Embers are thrown out and pine straw used for mulching and vinyl siding become a problem.”
North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Director William Bailey said his department was helping Horry County throughout the day which accounts for the police officers location on the Highway 22 overpass when the fire turned and headed into Barefoot Resort.
He said once the fires merged and jumped the highway there was no stopping it. Embers were being blown a mile ahead of the fire, said Bailey.
By 2:02 a.m. on Thursday homes in Barefoot were fully involved in flames and evacuation of the area was underway.
“In 10 minutes 27 people were working to evacuate Barefoot residents. We were working ahead of the fire to get people out,” said Bailey. “At 2:10 we requested a reverse 911 call from the county.”
“Embers were flying and there was fire everywhere,” he said. “Officers had to drive through flames and smoke to get people out. But the residents remained calm and evacuated quickly.”
Within 40 minutes 2,500 Barefoot residents were evacuated by public safety officers.
“The heroics of the officers saved a lot of lives,” said Duckworth.
“In the future we need to respect nature when we build. The way we develop needs to be changed. We need to build with the right kind of building products, correct our landscaping and learn from this experience.”
